On July 19, 2020, God told Chimayo he earned his halo and angel wings. He died peacefully in his moms arms. He was 16 years old and 2 weeks.
My name is Chimayo, I was named after the town I was rescued in, Chimayo, New Mexico. I was saved at 10 days old, a man took me & other pups from our moms. He sold us on the side of the road. I had heavenly angels looking out for me because I ended up with Melissa. She loves me, care for me and takes me on many adventure! I get a birthday party every year and I now that I am older I get taken to the drive thru for burgers weekly. Spoiled is my middle name, Chimayo Spoiled Sweeney. Oh, I am a cancer warrior/survivor! I BEAT IT!

Hi- My name is Logan! I am one of the dogs at Love from Luke Dog Sanctuary.
Our goal is to get me healthy, so I can be a comfort dog. We want to remind people that UNIQUENESS IS BEAUTIFUL!
My mom Lucy was Redlands dump, I was born in the Everglades of Florida. My mom & 3 surviving siblings were transported to Melissa when I was about 4 weeks old. I was totally adorable and Melissa decided to keep me as hers. When I was 6 mo. old I was diagnosed with panosteitis a rare bone disease that only 3% of dogs have.
Good news: Its curable!
Bad news: I needed a new knee before I was one year old! But it doesn't stop me from having a good time and getting into mischief. This is me when dog-mom Melissa caught me chewing toilet paper. I stopped what I was doing because I am a super good boy and smiled for the camera.

My name is Lucy, I was dumped in the Everglades of FL & survived there for 5 yrs. It was very scary at times. Melissa saw my picture online and agreed to fostered my puppies & I. My last litter I had 8 puppies but only 3 survived. I get scared when people try to pet or touch me. I was badly hurt by people in the past.
My life has changed so much since I first moved in. Melissa kept me, she calls me the princess of the house and all the other dogs must show me respect. I am thankful that she kept my son Logan and my other son comes to visit me. My life started off rough but is now pretty great! I am in two books about dog rescue and on a T-shirt- who would have guessed!
I love to play in the yard & eat treats. I will stay forever with Melissa at Love from Luke. She officially adopted me a few years back! My life in now full of lots of love, laughter and really good times.

My name is LUNA, I am 4 yrs old. I was born with an extra vertebra on my back. I can walk & run but I look a little different. I take many vitamins to stay healthy. I got adopted & I was taken off my vitamins, I could barely walk and I was neglected. This made me so sad. Thankfully, Melissa got me back, sadly I needed to stay in the hospital for 3 days to get the proper nutrients. Many people prayed for me and I received a miracle. I got back on a healthy diet and with many people loving me, I avoided having to get spinal surgery. I was supposed to be in a wheelchair but I can run and play like any other healthy dog. When I was a small puppy I would dig holes and I chew, but I was very badly hurt for it by a family that didn't understand puppies. When I got better I was on TV for adoption but people worried what would happen if my spine got worse & no one filled out an adoption application. But I have an amazing life with my dogmom Lissa. Logan & Lucy are my best friends. My favorite things are car rides, the beach and visiting friends. Dogmom tells me I am blessed to be a blessing and her surprised gift from God.
I am going to go into training and visit a bunch of different people to remind them BEING NORMAL IS BORING!

My name is Khloe. This is a picture of me with my real mom. Yup, I was bigger than her. I am the newest member of Love from Luke and I plan on being an amazing therapy dog, bringing love and laughter to the world with my great smile and fantastic tricks. I was born into another rescue and in 2 years I lost track of how many homes I was in. No one ever took time to train me and I had accidents in the house. People got mad, yelled and sometimes hurt me. Then I was in another new home. I had lost all hope, I thought I was a bad dog, worthless and unlovable. The only good thing was I ended up being returned to a foster home that my mom was at. One day at a rescue event my mom saw Melissa walk into the petstore, she kept smiling at her and when Melissa came close to us my mom jumped 5ft in the air, right into Melissa's arms! She snuggled into her and made very cute faces. Melissa saw we were very skinny, plus had fleas. She took my mom, me and another dog home with her that day. My real mom and other dog got adopted but Melissa saw something special in me that no one else did and decided I would be an inspirational therapy dog, especially because I am a very talented spinner and dancer. I am thankful my mom literally took the LEAP OF FAITH in Melissa's arms. That risk changed our entire lives.
